Nigerian Tourism Minister Lola Ade-John has been reportedly hospitalized in Abuja after suffering from acute poisoning.

Ade-John was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi after she started showing symptoms of poisoning.

Sources claimed that she had been at the facility for four days as of Friday morning.

However, the specifics of what substance she ingested and how it happened could not be immediately established.

It was reported that her worsening situation has caused a disagreement between her family and the government regarding whether or not she should continue receiving treatment at a public hospital or be moved to a better-equipped private facility downtown.

The permanent secretary of her ministry, Ngozi Onwudike insisted that the Minister should not be transferred because the FMC was a public hospital and its services wouldn’t attract substantial charges to the government.

Her family rebuffed the position, but they have remained with her at the FMC as they could not raise funds to move her to a private hospital.

Ade-John assumed the role of minister in August, appointed by President Bola Tinubu.

Stay tuned for more details…
