The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.
The development followed petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party and its candidate, Peter Obi, challenging the victory of Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission on March 1.
The five-man panel of the Tribunal led by Justice Haruna Tsammani ruled that, “This petition accordingly lacks merit. I affirm the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties are to bear their cost”.
