European football governing body, UEFA, has banned the English football team from playing it’s home games at the Wembley Stadium.

England must now play their next home match in any UEFA competition behind closed doors, European football’s governing body ruled on Monday.

The ban follows the disorder caused by large crowds at the Euro 2020 final at Wembley.

The final showpiece was contested England and Italy on July 11, but was marred by chaotic scenes as ticketless supporters forced their way through security cordons to gain entry to the stadium.

Italy went on to win the game on penalties, leading to attack on the Azurri supporters by the English fans.
