BREAKING: Unvaccinated Civil Servants Barred From Federal Secretariat Abuja | Daily Report Nigeria

Unvaccinated civil servants under the federal government where on Wednesday morning barred from accessing the secretariat building in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to a Punch report seen by Daily Report Nigeria, members of general public without proof of vaccination and negative PCR tests were barred from accessing government buildings.

Daily Report Nigeria can recall that the Boss Mustapha-led presidential steering committee on COVID-19 had in October announced a December 1 deadline for civil servants to to be vaccinated or face the consequences.

Meanwhile, the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria had beckoned on the Federal Government to extend the deadline till March next 2022.

The PSC however, described the plea as “impossible”.

In a related story, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday morning announced the confirmation of two cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus disease.
