Today, September 16, President Muhammadu Buhari will be represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Governments’ 2nd Extraordinary summit on the current situation in the Republic of Guinea. The meeting will take place in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
Last week, Osinbajo participated in a previous ECOWAS special session on the political situation in Guinea and Mali.
Recall, On September 8, a virtual meeting was held.

In the meeting, Guinea has been suspended from all ECOWAS governing bodies and statutory meetings, as voted at the most recent summit.
ECOWAS leaders also urged the prompt and unequivocal release of overthrown President Alpha Conde and other detainees, as well as the return of constitutional in Guinea, and decided to displayh a high-level ECOWAS mission to Guinea to evaluate the situation.
The physical meeting taking place today 16 of September will review the situation in Guinea in light of the report of the ECOWAS high-level mission to Conakry.
The vice president leaves Abuja this morning and would be escorted by the Foreign Affairs Minister of State, Ambassador Zubairu Dada.
