BREAKING:US Places $25,000 Bounty On Nigerian Man For Murder | Daily Report Nigeria
  • A Nigerian man has been placed a wanted list following his involvement in murder, amongst other crimes.

  • The US authorities have placed a $25,000 bounty on him, while also adding him to the “15 Most Wanted” list.

Authorities of the Rhode Island have placed a man on wanted list for various crimes, including murder, and child abuse.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the US Marshall Service the accused, identified as Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, 48 has been tagged wanted by the authorities for first-degree murder and two counts of causing serious bodily injury to a child.

It was gathered that that the accused was arrested on April 10, after the authorities found his 3-month-old son severely injured in his residence.

The child, who was rushed to the hospital was said to have sustained 18 varying degrees of injuries including skull fracture, subdural hematoma, severe brain trauma, and broken bones in the ribs, clavicle, legs, and arms.

Despite being placed on life support, the child tragically passed away six months later.

Olawusi, who had been released the same day fled immediately he learnt of the death of the child.

 

The US Marshall said;

Mr. Olawusi is wanted for the abuse and murder of an innocent child, and has fled the country to avoid justice,” said U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald L. Davis. “We have placed Mr. Olawusi on our 15 Most Wanted list due to the heinous crimes he’s committed and the threat he continues to pose to the public. The USMS will exhaust all resources necessary to bring him to justice for his family and the community.”

 

Olawusi, also known as Olekun Olawusi, is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Established in 1983, the “15 Most Wanted” fugitive programme highlights some of the U.S.’s most dangerous and high-profile fugitives. These individuals often have extensive criminal backgrounds and pose a substantial threat to public safety. Fugitives on this list are usually deemed the “worst of the worst,” and may include murderers, sex offenders, major drug traffickers, organised crime figures, and high-profile financial criminals. Since its inception, the programme has led to the capture of over 250 fugitives.
