Buhari Asks Senate to Approve $556M, £98M, N226B for Judgment Debt Payments

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to approve the payment of a substantial judgment debt owed by the Federal Government.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the President is seeking for approval yo pay total sums of $566,754,584.31, £98,526,012.00, and N226 billion.

President Buhari is proposing the issuance of promissory notes as a means of settling the debts.

The formal request from President Buhari was presented during Wednesday’s plenary session, with Senate President Ahmad Lawan reading the letter to the Senate.
