She began her post with the words:
“BREAKING. Finally, Buhari and my father, Olunloyo, meet for the FIRST TIME at the Gates of Hell. Same year, 2025.”
The journalist alleged that although Buhari and her father were in the same political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the two never met. She accused Buhari of being responsible for ending her father’s democratic tenure in 1983 and linked the timing of his death to a symbolic shift in Nigeria’s political energy.
“My father never met Buhari despite being in the same political party, the APC, and ending my dad’s democracy in 1983. Buhari dying on Wole Soyinka’s birthday is a sign of FREEDOM,” she wrote.
Kemi went further to express hope for change in the aftermath of Buhari’s passing, including the release of those he allegedly jailed and recognition for journalists affected during his time as a military ruler.
“I hope Ayisha remarries and everyone he locked up is released, and all the journalists he executed during his military reign continue to rest in peace,” she added.
She also cast doubt on the official age of the former president, claiming he was older than stated.
“I hope his family can now tell the world he was 89 and not 82 because he was 48, the same age as my dad in 1983 when he took over Shagari’s democracy. Only you? He was the leader of Nigeria when I was 19, 51, and 55,” she claimed.
The post concluded with an unapologetically sarcastic farewell:
“SUN RE OOO BOO HARRY.”
Olunloyo’s reaction has sparked debate online, with many questioning the timing and tone of her message, while others note it as consistent with her history of controversial public commentary.
