Algeria mourn the loss of their former president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika who passed away two days ago.

The Pan Africanist arrived at this sinful world on March 1937, and exited on 17 Sep, 2021.

AbdulAzeez dominated the country for 20 years and succeeded in making tremendous efforts towards developing his country.

The 84 year old leader assumed the apex post from 1999 to his resignation in 2019.

The political leader was a veteran in the civil war that led to his country’s independence.

He was also the President of the UN General Assembly between 1974–1975.

President Muhammadu Buhari on behalf of Nigeria has outstretched his earnest commiseration to the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune over his (AbdulAzeez) demise.

He passed his condolence through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

The condolence was found in Femi Adeshina’ s statement yesterday.

On the African front, Buhari noted that the true Pan-Africanist’s legacy of securing the Algiers Peace Treaty between Eritrea and Ethiopia and supporting peace efforts in the Africa Great Lakes region will always be remembered.

Buhari finally prayed that the deceased’s soul rest in peace as he also console the Algerian people amid their brokenheartedness.
