Buhari Makes New Appointments Hours To Presidential Election | Daily Report Nigeria

Barely 48 hours before the 2023 presidential election, Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari approved new board appointees in FCT, Abuja.

The FCT minister, Malam Muhammad Bello disclosed this through an official statement signed by his senior special assistant on Media and Strategy, Sani Abubakar.

He stated that Buhari also appointed other notable politicians and technocrats to various boards of the Federal Capital Territory.

The president approved the renewal of the appointment of chairmen and members of the Boards of agencies of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Buhari approved the appointment of the chairman of the Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ) FCT Chapter, Emmanuel Ogbeche.

Ogbeche was appointed as a member of the reconstituted Abuja Broadcasting Corporation Board which is headed by Abubakar Jijiwa as chairman.

Other appointments were managing director of Abuja Broadcasting Corporation, chairman of NUJ, FCT, Ayodele Samuel, Salamatu Bello Jibrin, Mr Joshua Tokura, Comrade Adamu Muhammed, Hon Aminu Danmaliki, Ibrahim Modibbo Hamman, and Bala Muhammad, Yusuf Nuhu and Ibrahim Magaji.

The president also appointed members of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Board headed by the minister of FCT as chairman while the executive secretary of FCDA as secretary of the board.

Other members of the board include Hussaini Mongono, Haruna Hamza, Alhaji Bala Mamman, Hon Lawrence Onuchuku, Omasan Magrete Agbajoh, Solomon Ayuba Dagami, Solomon Adebayo Jemilehin, and Hadiza Ladi Abdullahi.

The statement read:

“Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) Board is headed by Mal. Yahaya Ibrahim as chairman. Other members are the group managing director, (AICL), a representative of FCTA Economic Planning Secretariat, a Representative of FCDA, Salamatu B. Umar-Eluma, Alh. Yusuf Tsayyabu, Alh. Hassan Y. Gwagwa, Mamuda Lawal Musawa, Joash Ojo Amupitan, and A’isha Ismail Mukhtar. Others are Pius Odioko Ovbije, Kabiru Usman, Hon. Osita Opara and Kabir Muhammad Dankaura.

“Abuja Property Development Company (APDC) Board is headed by Mohammed Idris as Chairman. Other members are the Managing Director/CEO, (APDC), a Representative of Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL), a Representative of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), a Representative of FCDA, URP Dept., a Director Development Control, Hon. Yakubu Adamu, Shaban Ishaku Tete, and Pastor Illoh Samuel.

“The Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) Board is headed by Dr. Engr. Bawuro Yahaya is chairman while the director of AEPB is to serve as the secretary.”
