  • Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that his health has improved since leaving office on May 29, 2023.

  • Buhari stated that the complexities of being the President of Nigeria affected his health, adding that he looks better now than before.

  • The former President made these comments at an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting at the Katsina State Government House.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that his health has improved significantly since leaving office on May 29, 2023.

Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting at the Katsina State Government House, Buhari attributed his improved health to the reduced complexities of being the President of Nigeria.

“My health has improved since leaving office,” Buhari said. “People who visited me told me I look better than before.” The former President’s health was a subject of concern during his tenure, with several medical trips abroad.

However, Buhari has now confirmed that he is in better health, citing the reduced pressures of the presidency.

Buhari also reflected on the challenges of leading Nigeria, stating that “those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria.”

The former President handed over to Bola Tinubu after serving his two terms as President, and has since maintained a relatively low profile.

Former Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari have testified before the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration in Paris, France.

The two leaders denied claims that the Federal Government awarded a $6 billion contract for the Mambilla Power Project in Taraba State to Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited.
