A sudden building collapse in the Sabo area of Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Sunday, sparked panic among residents, with a loud sound preceding the structure’s downfall.
A member of Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, Alaran, who witnessed the incident, described the scene.

A building in Osogbo, Osun State capital, unexpectedly caved in on Sunday, causing alarm in the neighborhood. According to Alaran, a resident and member of Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, a loud sound preceded the collapse. “The incident happened between 7:30 and 8:am this morning (Sunday).
A loud sound was heard. The house is not being inhabited by anyone. But some people usually hide there to smoke or gamble. Some people were trapped,” Alaran said.
He added that although the building was unoccupied, some individuals often sought refuge there for various activities. Emergency responders, including policemen and operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, promptly arrived at the scene following a distress call.
