The Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has expelled 60 students from different departments for their involvement in examination malpractices.

The decision was approved by the university’s Senate at its 43rd statutory meeting held on January 7, 2026, following the consideration of reports and recommendations submitted by relevant academic and disciplinary committees.

The development was made public through an official statement released on BUK’s verified Facebook page.

According to the university, investigations established that the affected students were involved in various acts that contravened the institution’s examination rules and regulations.

The Senate, after reviewing the findings, ratified their expulsion in line with the university’s examination regulations.

BUK reiterated its commitment to upholding academic integrity and warned that strict sanctions would continue to be enforced against any form of examination malpractice as a deterrent to future violations.
