A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Salisu Kainuwa Tsafe has accused the Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of going outside the All Progressive Congress, APC’s constitutional provisions.
The former leader, Zamfara State House of Assembly, told journalists in Gusau, the State capital, that the main reason for constituting the caretaker committee was to make adequate arrangements for the National convention of the party.
Tsafe, who is also a statutory delegate to the national convention, said that other actions by the caretaker committee were illegal as they were outside their statutory mandate.
The former lawmaker said: “The constitution of the party does not recognize an acting committee, and after Adams Oshiomole was sacked by the NEC, his Deputy, Mr. Niyi was supposed to take over but he was made a Minister and when the southern part of Nigeria failed to organize themselves, it was resolved that a convention committee be formed so that new leaders of the party could emerge.
