Many have been left injured following a fatal protest in Kano state.
According to reports, a man, who was arrested by the police died while being interrogated, an act which sparked anger among the people.

This violent outbreak occured on Monday, May 26 in Rano local government area of Kano state when one Abdullahi Musa was allegedly tortured to death by the police.
An eyewitness, simply identified as Muhammad who confirmed the incident noted that the DPO of the area subjected the deceased to intense torture after being arrested for traffic-related offences.
A young man was beaten mercilessly by the DPO. Later, we heard he d!ed in their custody. That’s what triggered the protest”
“In retaliation, the enraged youths began hurling stones at the police officers and eventually set the station on fire. ”
In retaliation, police officers, in a bid to disperse the crowd after the police station was set ablaze opened fire, injuring at least two people.
The victims were subsequently rushed to the Rano General Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The Spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa assured the public that an investigation would be launched into the incident.
