Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has denied using songwriters, countering claims made by Davido’s signee, Logos Olori.

In a recent interview with City 105.1 FM, Logos Olori suggested that major artists like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy use songwriters. He explained that as artists get busier, particularly with numerous shows, they often need songwriters to keep up. He cited examples like Chris Brown and Michael Jackson, emphasizing that it’s a common practice in the music industry.

Responding on his X handle, Burna insisted that he does not use songwriters. He clarified that names credited on his songs are producers or featured artists, not writers. Burna Boy explained that in the western music industry, producers are sometimes credited as writers due to policy differences. He stated, “Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists, not writers. Nobody can write for Odogwu.”

This stance contrasts with Burna Boy’s earlier admission that Davido’s signee, Peruzzi, wrote a song for him, claiming it was the only time he had used a songwriter.
