Burna Boy

Nigerian afrobeats star Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artist to surpass two billion streams in the United Kingdom. He was honored with a Brit plaque during his sold-out performance at Koko Camden in London on Monday night, marking this significant achievement.

Just weeks earlier, Burna Boy received a Brit plaque for reaching one billion streams at another sold-out show at the London Stadium.

Accepting his Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna expressed gratitude and emphasized the effort behind his success.

“Thank you very much. I appreciate you. You know, I had to fight for this,” Burna Boy stated.

One of the presenters joked, “But you already have it. You don’t need to fight.”

To which Burna responded firmly, “No, we have to fight for our rights.”
