Grammy-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has stated that no politician in Nigeria has ever given him anything. In a post on his X handle on Thursday, he hinted that former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State did not fulfill his promise to him after he won the Grammy.
Wike had announced in 2021 that he would give Burna a plot of land and cash as appreciation for winning the Grammy Award.
This promise was made during a homecoming ceremony organized by Rivers State to celebrate Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice as Tall’ winning the Best Global Music Album category.
However, Burna Boy said in his post, “No politician has ever given me anything. Go ask Wike where the land he promised me is or which money he gave me. You think I’m like your faves.”
