“I appreciate the Burutu people for cheering me to victory in the last two tenures. I sincerely say thank you for your show of support and solidarity.
“In 2019, most of you were present in this same venue where I made my ambition known. I want to say thank you for your support in ensuring we came out victorious.
On the effectiveness of his representation at the Green Chambers, Pondi said;
“I can’t say I’m the best of representatives, neither have I been the worse of all and I’ll prove my records straight.
“The law allows lawmakers at every cadre to remain in representative quarters as long as possible.
“Though nobody has been there for more than two tenures in Burutu Federal Constituency, the law doesn’t limit tenures for lawmakers.
“The question would be what has been my record as a representative for seven years. I can assure you that I’ve represented the people of Burutu very well even as a young man.
“I’ve come to inform the chairman and the party that having stayed for seven years at the Green Chambers, I’ve done my bit, which I am very proud of.
“Burutu, a Federal Constituency with 77 communities is quiet a large one. I’ve not been able to cut across all communities, but I’ve executed the following projects across the 11 wards in the Constituency;
Ward 1 – renovation of 3 classroom block at Keniyinbo Primary School, Torugbene
Ward 2 – Construction of 6 classroom block in Tamigbe
Ward 3 – Installation of Street lights in Tuomo
Ward 4 – Renovation of 6 classroom block at Enekorogha Grammar School, Enekorogha.
Ward 4 – Construction of 6 classroom block in Oboro
Ward 5 – Renovation classroom block at Zuokumor Primary School, Ojobo
Ward 6 – Renovation of 6 classroom block at Ekumu Primary School, Ekogbene
Ward 7 – Construction of classroom blocks at Akparemo Primary School
Ward 8 – Installation of Street Light in Kiagbodo
Ward 9 – Solar Street light at Egodor Town
Ward 10 – Construction, furnishing and electrification of Town Hall in Burutu 250 classroom desks in Obotebe
Ward 11 – JAMB Centre at Ogulagha, among other projects, bills and motions.
“Before I ask for another tenure, I by way of this prove to you that I’ve not misused the previous tenures you’ve given me. However, if you give me another tenure, I’ll do more than I’ve showed you.”
Commending Pondi for a job well done, the Chairman of Ward Chairmen, Chief Ebimiekumo Akpoebide applauded the lawmaker for delivering the dividends of good representation by virtue of his landmark projects and bills.
He stated that the leadership and members of the PDP were happy with his performance, urging the lawmaker to remain resolute in being a good representative.
The party’s youth leader, Peremobowei Amakama, queued behind other leaders in commending the input of Pondi, saying his representation is fruitful, and could easily be adjudged as the only lawmaker Burutu people have ever had.
Describing Pondi’s leadership as that of the youths, he said;
“Burutu we’re proud of you, the youths are proud of you, and we’ll give you our support for another tenure,” Amakama added.
The Burutu PDP Chairman, Ebike Oromoni, also poured encomiums on Pondi for making the party and the entire Burutu people proud.
Expressing his awareness of the legislative business, Oromoni said;.
“We are aware there’s no limit to tenures in the business of lawmaking, and as the Chairman of the party in Burutu, we have seen your projects and we’re satisfied.
“We also know that the business of legislation becomes easier and more effective with time, for that reason, we sincerely pray that the coast be clear for you,” Oromoni said.
The party proceeded to say sincere prayers for the incumbent lawmaker to emerge victorious at the polls.
