The Commissioner for Oil and Gas in Delta State, Chief Emman Amgbaduba, has said that only the best would be voted into power come 2023.

Amgbaduba, a former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Delta South, stated this in reaction to demands by some quarters for the Burutu Federal Constituency seat to be zoned.

He stated this when members of the Burutu Credibility Front led by Elder Darlington Owan, paid him a consultative visit at his Udu residence, on Saturday.

The spokesperson for the group, Ayoromiegha Welemu Junior, had in his presentation, called for credibility, and people who can win elections for the People’s Democratic Party in Burutu as a yardstick to determine candidates.

Williams, who commended the Ifeanyi Okowa-led government on its giant strides in development so far, called for leaders to ensure that adequate attention is given to cardinal projects in Burutu local government area.

On his part, Elder Darlington Owan buttressed that calls for zoning at this point could lead to the division of the PDP, and as such, all aspirants be given a free template for Burutu people to make their choice.

The two-time commissioner in his response applauded the group for making credibility its gospel.

He called to mind that credibility has always been a benchmark used by the PDP in electing candidates, and 2023 would not be an exception.

“I feel part of the Burutu Credibility Front. Credibility is a Northern Star, and it is very constant.

“If you lack credibility, you become an expired drink. There is no quality assurance with you. I recognize the word credibility.

The seasoned politician maintained that a level playing ground would be accorded all aspirants in the 2023 general elections and that the best man will always win.

“Burutu should allow for every aspirant to go through the usual primary procedure, which is for everyone to contest and for the best man to win.

“The PDP has always used credibility as a benchmark to elect candidates. It is paramount to any and everything. If an incumbent candidate is credible, they’ll be voted in again.

“In the interest of justice, fairness, justice, and credibility, if the person that is there is doing well, go back and do better for us,” he added.

He also charged the group to continue with its message of credibility, saying the gospel should be taken to the doorstep of all leaders in the local government area.

On the unholy romance between members of the PDP and opposition, Amgbaduba expressed disappointment and suggested for erring members to be sanctioned.
