He emphasized that the leadership of the PDP had never in any time met to discuss zoning arrangement in any political office in the local government.

He noted it will be unfair for Ijaws to clamour for a no-zoning arrangement with regards to the governorship seat, and come down to implement that at the local government level.

He emphasized that even if there was need for a zoning arrangements, the conversation should have come long ago and not when aspirants are already canvassing for votes.

“Zoning itself is not a bad thing, but if we must consider it, it should be after 2023 election. It is too late for us to talk about zoning any office in the coming elections.

“Like I said, calling for the implementation of zoning just for the sake of 2023 election is not also fair. It should precede the time frame.

“If we want to implement zoning, the party leadership and elected officers must seat after taking the oath of office to discuss it, and any resolutions would be made known to the state, so that the process will not be infringed by anyone.

Enieketen, a serving Senior Special Adviser to the Delta State Government advised for sensitive decisions regarding the PDP to be left for the leadership of the party to make.

He however, declared that the party will ensure that only credible candidates are projected to represent the party as well as the Burutu people.

Commenting the BCF for its crusade, the former Secretary to the Burutu local government also declared his stance for no-zoning in the Burutu Federal Constituency seat.
