Youth leaders and stakeholders from Oborotu communities have endorsed Anthony Ebitonmo Alapala as their preferred candidate for Burutu North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.

The All Progressives Congress’ flag bearer for the constituency was unveiled following a unanimous adoption by the stakeholders on Friday.

According to the convener, Comrade Collins Epidei Gbakena, the decision by the stakeholders to endorse Alapala was premised on his antecedent as an accessible leader.

Lamenting an alleged abandonment by the Peoples Democratic Party, Gbakena noted that the APC candidate represents a renewed hope for the people of Burutu North Constituency.

The stakeholders expressed displeasure over the failure of the PDP to recognize them after working towards its victory in previous elections.

They attributed the individual records of Alapala as a pointer to what his performance would be when he is voted to represent the people.

Gbakena said;

“We’ve been part of the politicking process for long but it has been from one abandonment to another with the PDP. And after a cursory analysis of all the candidates for Burutu North, we have found the APC candidate worthy.

‘We have an unwavering trust for him and have no iota of doubt that our cries would be attended to by Alapala and for that reason, we have adopted and endorsed him as our preferred candidate for the Burutu North Constituency.”

On his part, Alapala expressed gratitude for the gesture of the stakeholders towards his ambition, and reiterated that the progress and development of the constituency was his only mandate.

He further promised to set the ball rolling from his first day in office if voted for.
