The U-17 Africa Cup of Nations serves as a platform for young African talents to showcase their skills on an international stage.

This year’s tournament is particularly significant as it also acts as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, with Africa being represented by 10 teams in the expanded global competition.

Host Cities and Venues

Four stadiums across three Moroccan cities have been selected to host the matches:

El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia

Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca

Berrechid Stadium in Casablanca

El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida

These venues are set to provide a vibrant atmosphere for both players and fans alike.

Key Fixtures and Matchups

The tournament kicks off on March 30 at the El Bachir Stadium, with host nation Morocco facing Uganda, the reigning East African champions.

The following day, Group A action continues as Tanzania takes on Zambia, champions of Southern Africa.

In Group B, Burkina Faso, who secured third place in the last tournament, will compete against two-time champions Cameroon.

Additionally, South Africa, the 2015 runners-up, will face Egypt, the 1997 champions, in a thrilling North vs. South encounter.

Path to the FIFA U-17 World Cup

This edition of the U-17 AFCON also serves as a qualification pathway for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Qatar later this year.

With the tournament’s expansion, Africa will be represented by 10 teams, providing more opportunities for young talents to shine on the global stage.
