CAF to Inspect Nigeria, Benin Republic Over 2025 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will visit Nigeria and Benin Republic between March 31 and April 2nd to inspect facilities that will be used for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria and their close-door neighbours, Benin Republic have put up a joint bid to co- host Africa’s flagship soccer event bid 2025.

The CAF team is excepted to inspect stadium, training facilities, hotels and other important things that will enable a smooth running of the competition.

Morocco, Algeria, Zambia and South Africa are the other countries who have submitted their bid to host the event.

Guinea was in pole position to host the competition but were stripped at the last minute due to inadequacy and speed of progress in preparations.

It would be recalled that Nigeria co-hosted the AFCON in 2000 with Ghana.
