Canada Sets Up Copa America Semifinal Clash with Argentina

Copa America

Argentina will face Canada in the Copa America semi-final after Jesse Marsch’s team secured victory in a penalty shoot-out against Venezuela on Friday night. The match ended 1-1 after regulation time without extra time being played.

Maxime Crepeau’s save from Wilker Ángel’s spot-kick and Ismael Kone’s successful conversion of the winning penalty ensured Canada’s progression. They will now meet Argentina in New Jersey on Tuesday, marking a rematch of their opening game where the defending champions triumphed 2-0.

Canada’s advancement makes them the fourth Concacaf team, alongside Mexico, Honduras, and the United States, to reach the Copa América semi-finals.
