The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft and smuggling of a car stolen during a test drive at a dealership in the state.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects were apprehended through a coordinated tactical operation by operatives of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), led by CSP Rabiu Gidado.

The ringleader, identified as Shamsu Yusuf, popularly known as “Chitta,” was arrested alongside two others — 40-year-old Bashir Ladan of Shagari Quarters, Katsina, and 41-year-old Suleiman Muntari of Tudun Matawalle, Katsina.

The incident took place on July 7 after a car dealer, Abdulqadir Abdurrahman of Gadan Kaya Quarters, Kano, reported that a man posing as a potential buyer had approached Dangari Motors and disappeared with a gold-colored 2013 Toyota Corolla during a test drive.

“The principal suspect confessed to a series of car thefts, including the theft of a GLK Mercedes car of recent,”
the statement read.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

The police confirmed that the stolen vehicle had already been sold in the Niger Republic before it was tracked and recovered.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, while applauding the operation, urged car dealers to take extra precautions when dealing with unknown buyers. He also called on the public to assist security agencies by reporting any suspicious movement or behavior in their communities.

VeryDarkMan Shuts Down ₦120M Boxing Offer, Demands Bigger Paycheck

Social media personality VeryDarkMan has rejected a ₦120 million celebrity boxing proposal, calling the offer disrespectful and far below what he believes he deserves.

The offer, reportedly pushed by music promoter Soso Soberekon, would have seen VeryDarkMan face off against controversial singer Portable in a high-profile boxing match. But the outspoken activist made it clear he wasn’t interested—unless the price was right.
