The 28-year-old was brought onto the pitch to replace Emile Smith-Rowe in the 74th minute of the second-leg of the cup organized by the English Football Club.

Meanwhile, the former Atletico Madrid’s player just returned from Cameroon after his country was unable to make it to the Round of 16 of the ongoing African Cup Of Nations.

Mikel Arteta’s citizens were able to hold the Reds to a goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg of the EFL Cup on 13th.

Partey was shown a yellow 13 minutes after he was introduced and was sent off by Referee Martin Atkinson after he received a second booking three minutes later.

The final to take place in February will therefore come up between Jurge Klopp’s soldiers and the Blues who crashed out Antonio Conte’s side to make it to the penultimate phase of the competition.

Partey wrote on Instagram: “I am responsible for anything that happened and will take all the critics.”

“I should be more intelligent not to get in a challenge already booked but this is my personality. I like to fight for every ball.”
