The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Yemi Cardoso has dismissed about 40 staff members.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the dismissal primarily affected the Development Finance Department (DFD), as part of the ongoing restructuring efforts.

Those who were sacked included deputy directors and assistant directors, with 22 of them coming from the DFD and the remaining 18 from the Medicals and Procurement Services Department.

Cardoso also dismissed 8 directors, 10 deputy directors, five assistant directors, 2 principal managers, and two senior managers.

The development brings the total number of affected staff to 67, indicating that the Olayemi Cardoso-led Board of Governors is continuing to implement changes.

In the first wave, the dismissals impacted no fewer than 27 CBN staff members, most of whom were directors.
