Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has shared insights into the tactics that led to his team’s elimination of Manchester City from the Champions League this season.
The Spanish giants overcame City in the quarter-finals and are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the final this Saturday.
Real Madrid drew 3-3 with Pep Guardiola’s team at the Bernabeu before securing victory on penalties after another draw at the Etihad.

“There is no ‘Ancelotti style’ because I adapt,” Ancelotti explained. “Against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final, we played a low block with a strong defense. We’ve only played that way once or twice this season.
“Typically, we are more attacking, but I saw that defensive approach as the best way to compete and win that game,” he added.
