The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has unfrozen about four hundred and forty company and individual bank accounts nationwide.

The CBN issued a directive to all commercial banks to lift the post-no-debit restriction, including ATMs and cheques on the bank accounts.

The affected companies on the list include Bamboo Systems Technology Limited, Escale Oil & Gas Limited, Rise Vest Technologies Limited, Chaka Technologies Limited, abokiFX Limited, Nairabet International, Northwood Energy Services, and Proport Marine Limited, among others.

The restriction prevented any debit transactions on the accounts but allowed for inflows.

A circular, signed by A M Barau on behalf of the CBN director of banking supervision, instructed banks to inform the affected customers of the vacation.

However, the apex bank did not provide a reason for the action.

The circular read:

You are hereby directed to vacate the Post-No-Debit restriction placed on the accounts of the underlisted bank customers at our instance.

“You are also required to inform the concerned customers of the vacation accordingly.”
