Canadian singer Celine Dion took the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday, marking her first live performance in four years due to her battle with stiff person syndrome.
At the Eiffel Tower, Dion delivered a stirring rendition of Edith Piaf’s 1950 song “Hymne à l’amour” to conclude the ceremony.
The 56-year-old singer reportedly charged $2 million for her appearance. This was Dion’s second Olympic performance, following her rendition of “The Power of the Dream” at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
