The National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Chief (Comr.) Mulade Sheriff, the Ibe – Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, heartily join ranks with other Niger Deltans to congratulate Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro on his recent appointment as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Otuaro was appointed to man the office by President Bola Tinubu following the expiration of tenure of Maj. Gen. Barry Ndiomu.

According to Mulade, “It is believed that your appointment will see to the overhaul of the Amnesty programme whose operations have been ruined by embezzlement and misplaced priorities over the years.

“Having had the requisite knowledge and experience in the Niger Delta agitation. I believe there is no doubt that your expertise and wherewithal will pay off, especially in correcting the abnormalities of the presidential project for the benefits of the teeming youths in the region.

“I use this opportunity to also call on all stakeholders in the region to support the Administrator of PAP and objectively propose viable solutions and initiatives that will help to boost and strengthen the programme, while I commend President Tinubu for selecting Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro for the job.

“Lastly, while I wish Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro, a successful tenure in office, I also implore that the name “Amnesty” should be looked into.

“I believe it is time to transit from the Amnesty platform to a more subtle identity with the core aim of empowering and educating the teeming Niger Delta youths.”
