PSG had gone unbeaten since early May and hadn’t let in a goal across five matches, including their Champions League win.
However, Botafogo became the first team to keep PSG off the scoresheet since March, ending a 19-game run.
Therefore, coach Luis Enrique admitted his side struggled against “one of the toughest defensive units in the tournament.”
Jesus, who looks set to join Nottingham Forest next season, took down a long ball from Jefferson Savarino, left two defenders behind and curled the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Furthermore, he then leaped over the barrier to join his ecstatic Brazilian fans in celebrating.
PSG had 16 attempts and possession of the ball, but they only had two shots on goal.
Meanwhile, Botafogo’s precision in front of goal was demonstrated by the four saves they forced from Donnarumma.
