CHAN 2024 Group D: Nigeria, Senegal Eye Knockout Berths

Defending champions Senegal have never lost to a West African side in CHAN.

They sealed qualification with a 1–1 draw in Liberia and a 3–0 home victory.

Meanwhile, Congo make their fourth straight appearance, twice exiting in quarterfinal penalty shootouts.

Their biggest CHAN win remains a 2–0 victory over Burkina Faso.

Sudan also advanced on penalties (6–5) after a 1–1 aggregate draw with Tanzania.

The opener between Nigeria and Senegal could well decide which teams progress.
