Sources close to the team revealed that Ndidi will be assisted by Moses Simon and Alex Iwobi, who have been named first and second vice-captains respectively. Victor Osimhen will serve as the team’s fourth captain during the tournament.
Ndidi, widely respected for his experience and leadership both at club and international level, is expected to bring calm and authority to the squad as Nigeria chases a fourth AFCON title.
“Ndidi has earned the respect of the dressing room and coaching crew. He leads by example and understands the responsibility,” a team source disclosed.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is expected to officially confirm the leadership structure before the Super Eagles’ first match in Morocco.
