Chelsea have abandoned their pursuit of Nigerian-born forward Samu Omorodion for new manager Enzo Maresca this summer. The Premier League club will now shift their focus to other targets.
Omorodion, currently playing for Atletico Madrid, was Chelsea’s primary attacking target for the summer transfer window. The club is determined to bolster their frontline to kick-start the Maresca era.
Although The Blues had been linked with players like Victor Osimhen, Jhon Duran, and Viktor Gyokeres, they launched a £42 million bid for Omorodion, which was promptly rejected by Atletico Madrid.
