Chelsea have agreed a £55million deal to land Leeds United ace, Raphinha ahead of the new season.

This was revealed by popular Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

“Chelsea and Leeds have reached a full agreement for Raphinha!. An official bid accepted around £60/65m [add-ons included]. The main part of the amount is to be paid immediately. It’s done between clubs,” he tweeted.

Arsenal was also in the race to sign the prolific midfielder and even had a meeting with Leeds before the deal was turned down a few hours later.

Spanish giants, Barcelona also made contact with Leeds for Raphinha, but couldn’t match Chelsea’s bid for the player.

The player, who is being represented by former Chelsea midfielder, Deco has already agreed to personal terms, according to Fabrizio.

If this deal is completed, Raphinha will be Chelsea’s first signing of the summer, and coach Thomas Tuchel will be impressed with his new recruit, as well as Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly.
