Chelsea have launched an internal disciplinary procedure following a video posted on social media by Enzo Fernandez, which the French Football Federation has labeled as racist.
The video shows Fernandez and some of his Argentina teammates chanting a derogatory song about the France team after Argentina’s victory over Colombia in the 2024 Copa America final.
Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana, reposted the video on social media, captioning it: “Football in 2024: uninhibited racism.”

We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive club where people from all cultures, communities, and identities feel welcome. We acknowledge and appreciate our player’s public apology and will use this as an opportunity to educate. The club has instigated an internal disciplinary procedure.”
