At a Friday press conference, reporters asked Bloom why Brighton often sells top players to Chelsea.
He answered without hesitation:
> “As I’ve said many times, they’re my best customer. We wish João well. Chelsea have got loyalty points with me. They keep coming back.”
Bloom’s joke underlines a clear transfer trend: several Brighton players have moved to Stamford Bridge in recent seasons.
Chelsea add attacking depth as they rebuild for the new campaign, while Brighton proves it can develop talent and secure large fees.
