The 21-year-old has signed a long deal at Stamford Bridge and called joining the club “an incredible moment” for him and his family.

Garnacho scored 26 goals in 144 senior appearances for Manchester United, including the opener in the Red Devils’ 2–1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May 2024.

However, he fell out of favour at Old Trafford this season and joined Chelsea after leaving first-team training earlier in the campaign.

The move strengthens Enzo Maresca’s attack and pushes Chelsea’s summer spending higher still.

The club has already added João Pedro, Liam Delap, Estêvão and Jamie Gittens this window, and now Garnacho brings pace and direct threat on the wing.

Yet Chelsea face a short-term problem: Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury in the 2–0 win over Fulham.

As a result, the club blocked Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan to Bayern Munich and kept him available, leaving João Pedro as the only fully fit centre-forward for now.

Maresca warned that losing a striker for several weeks would leave the squad thin on cover.

All told, Chelsea sign Garnacho from Manchester United while they juggle urgent striker cover – fans will expect immediate impact as the Blues balance short-term needs with long-term planning.
