Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu has departed the club to join Southampton on a season-long loan. The move was confirmed by Chelsea in a statement, just ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester City this Sunday.
The club expressed their support for Ugochukwu’s development during his time at Southampton, saying, “We look forward to monitoring and supporting Lesley’s development throughout his loan at St Mary’s. Good luck, Lesley.”
Lesley Ugochukwu, who joined Chelsea last summer from Rennes, made 15 appearances during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

The French Under-21 international was also part of the first-team squad under Enzo Maresca during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the USA. The 20-year-old now looks to gain more experience and playing time with the Saints.
