Adetshina was forced to withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant due to xenophobic backlash over her nationality.
“I’m thrilled to have won this competition,” Adetshina said in an interview. “I’m proud to represent Nigeria and I’m looking forward to representing my country at the international level.”
Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group, organisers of the competition, announced Adetshina as the winner at the grand finale which held at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, on Saturday night.
“Chidimma Adetshina is a true Nigerian beauty and we are proud to have her represent our country,” Murray-Bruce said.
Adetshina represented Taraba State in the keenly contested competition, which had a total of 25 participants.
