Chief Femi Esho, Chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, has passed away at the age of 77 after a brief illness. His family confirmed his death on Monday.

Known affectionately as Baba Esho or Baba Musician, he was a pivotal figure in the Nigerian music industry and the founder of the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.

Baba Esho mentored many in the Highlife music scene and was instrumental in preserving and promoting various Nigerian music genres, including Highlife, Juju, Sakara, Apala, and Afrobeat.
