Nigerian singer Chike has declared that marriage is not on his agenda, describing the institution as a “stup!d step.”
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, shared on Instagram on Friday, the “Running” hitmaker shared his candid thoughts on marriage: “In my personal opinion, I think it’s a stup!d step to get married. That’s my opinion.”

He further emphasized that marriage is not a path he intends to pursue.
Chike also opened up about what brings him happiness, linking it largely to financial stability. He explained:
“I need a lot of money to be happy,” clarifying, “this is not greed but a desire to live the life I envision.”
The singer, known for his soulful voice, revealed that music was never part of his initial plan and that he discovered his passion for it only after completing university.
Responding to critics who have labeled him as arr0gant, Chike dismissed their opinions, showing confidence in his life choices and personal outlook.
