Cholera Outbreak: Oborotu Students Laud Takeme's Intervention

  • Oborotu students have commended the Burutu Council Chairman Julius Takeme swiftly containing a recent cholera outbreak in the community

  • The students also heaped praises on the Council chair for the distribution of drugs to the Ofougbene Community Healthcare Center.

  • Takeme was also commended for initiating a health sensitization tour across health centres in the Burutu Local GovernmentArea.

The National Union of Oborotu Students (NUOS) has commended the Burutu Council Chairman, Julius Takeme, over his swift intervention during a recent cholera outbreak in the community.

In a commendation statement signed by Akpobuloukaimi Tamaramiensine Manna and Ogbomi Festus, Acting President and Secretary, respectively, the students also appreciated Takeme for distributing drugs to the Ofougbene Community Healthcare Center.

“We the National Union Of Oborotu Students (NUOS) writes to express our heartfelt gratitude to The Executive Chairman, Burutu Local Government, for his leadership and unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of the residents of Burutu Local Government, particularly Ofougbene Community in light of the recent cholera outbreak that rocked our community and affected the livelihood of our people.

“The distribution of drugs to the Ofougbene Community Healthcare Centre is a testament to your dedication to ensuring that our healthcare facilities are well-equipped to handle public health services.

“Your proactive approach in mobilizing resources during this critical time has undoubtedly saved lives and alleviated the suffering of those affected by the outbreak.

“The timely provision of essential medications not only addresses immediate health concerns but also instils a sense of security within our community.

“Also, NUOS commends you for initiating the health sensitization tour across local health centres in the Burutu Local Government Area.

“This initiative is crucial in educating our communities about cholera prevention measures, hygiene practices, and the importance of seeking medical attention promptly when need arises, by empowering our people with knowledge, you are fostering a culture of health awareness that will have lasting benefits beyond this outbreak.
