People have expressed mixed reactions, following the praises given to a group of young girls by their church.

According to reports, the young teenage girls, 20 in number, and between the age of 13-16 were applauded for preserving their virginity.

This happened at the Wenchi West District of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in the Bono Region of Ghana.

It was gathered that during the Thanksgiving in the church which took place over the weekend, the girls were gifted an undisclosed sun of money for their preservation and dedication.

Speaking on this, the District Coordinator of the Young Adventist Women Ministries, Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku said this was done to further encourage the girl, and preach purity before marriage.

God created you uniquely beautiful and you must not allow anybody to lure and break your virginity until you marry,” she advised.
