Clarine Martins Emerges First Female NUIS President | Daily Report Nigeria

The National Union of Izon-Ebe Students has elected a new set of executives saddled with the responsibility of piloting the association for the next one year.

The election of the new executives formed a part of activities at the 59th annual convention of all Ijaw students.

The exercise held in Bonny, Rivers State as Ijaw students from across the country convened.

At the end of the elections, Clarine Martins emerged the first female NUIS president in history.

The young 200 level Medical Imaging student of Rivers College of Health Science and Management, polled 38 votes to defeat her rival, Igani Diepriye, who scored 36 votes to claim victory.

Also, Miss Afiyagba Peredisabofa Sonya, from Delta State emerged Vice President, while Bob Cephas from Bayelsa was elected Secretary General.

The process was overseen by the Electoral Committee led by its Chairman, Polokowei Preye.
