Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, has written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, demanding urgent attention to the deplorable state of roads in the Niger Delta region.

Clark appealed to the President to declare a state of emergency on the roads in the 2025 budget and direct the Minister of Works to repair the roads.

“I am writing this passionate appeal to you to declare an emergency in the coming 2025 Budget and also direct your Minister of Works and its relevant agencies to redouble their efforts to repair these roads,” Clark said.

He lamented that despite the increase in oil production and prices, the roads in the region remain in a terrible state, causing immense hardship to residents.
