The Pride of London, Chelsea have booked their place in the semi-final of the ongoing Fifa Club World Cup with a victory over Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and Malo Gusto’s cross bounced off defender Giay Agustin and into his own goal to seal victory after Estevao had tied the score from a close angle seven minutes into the second half.
The 18-year-old Brazil international will now finalise a possible £52 million transfer to Chelsea.
Liam Delap and Levi Colwill received yellow cards and were suspended for the semi-final, while skipper Reece James sustained an injury during the warm-up.
Meanwhile, Joao Pedro who signed for Chelsea from Brighton two days ago made his debut and performed brilliantly when subbed in for Liam Delap immediately Fluminense found their equaliser.
On the other hand, Brazil’s Fluminense booked their spot in the Semi-Finals of the competition after beating Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal 2-1 on Friday.
Matheus Martinelli’s brilliant left-footed goal had given the Rio club the lead in the 40th minute, but Marcos Leonardo, a Brazilian forward for Al Hilal, tied the score six minutes into the second half before Hercules, much to the joy of the 43,091 spectators, took centre stage.
Hercules, a substitute, gave his side Fluminense the victory in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile, Al-Za’eem bowed out of the competition having created a lasting impression on the global scene and going undefeated in the group stage, which included holding Real Madrid to a tie.
Semi final will now see Fluminense going against Enzo Maresca’s men, Chelsea at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday 8th July.
