Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has reacted to an investigative report published by US-based media agent, Cable News Network (CNN), on the October 20 Lagos Lekki Toll Gate shootings.
The Minister while describing CNN’s report as lacking in balance and one-dimensional, also validated a report published by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) as he claimed BBC’s report was based more on facts.

He insisted that the Nigerian Military only fired blank bullets into the air and not the crowd.
Lai urged that persons who have alleged massacres, including missing family members and relatives, should report at the Judicial Panel to lay official complaints.
The Minister also condemned the CNN report which he claimed conveniently excluded the recent several lootings of warehouses across the country.
Mohammed noted that those who reported alleged massacre at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate incident only succeeded in misleading the world.
